This Election Day, residents living in the Stillwater Area Public School District voted to renew and increase the district’s tax levy.
About 63 percent of the voters, or about 9,111 of 14,396 votes cast, voted in favor of the $16.2 million levy, which district officials have said will have a three-fold impact: providing financial stability for schools by supporting current programs and avoiding more budget cuts; supporting the district’s “Bridge to Excellence” plan, and creating safer schools through a series of security upgrades.
