St. Anthony town baseball team headed to — “Hog Heaven” — Target Field

The St. Anthony Hogs town baseball team considers its home park, Palm Field, usually the best they play at all season. Palm Field will have to take a backseat to the diamond on which the Hogs will play on Saturday evening.

With a handful of expected players not coming out for the team this summer, the Rosetown American Legion baseball team is going through a bit of a youth movement this season.

39ers open season with a win over Fridley

Drop second game to Excelsior
The North St. Paul Post 39 American Legion baseball team got right into the summer baseball schedule when it opened the season with a 4-2 victory over Fridley Post 303 Gold.
Afterwards, 39ers coach Ron Adams said, "It was a well-played game. Obviously, the pitching on both sides was good. They had a couple of good swings in that one inning, but other than that we shut them down. In the fourth inning those two runs were huge. We got the big hit and then 'Rubes' (pitcher Nate Rubbelke) was able to shut them down in the seventh.

New state venue awaits Mounds View’s title defense

In winning the last two championships, the Mounds View High School baseball team played the first two rounds of the state tournament in the northwest corner of St. Paul at Midway Stadium.
