The Parkway Little League 10U All Stars are state champs. The success started earlier this summer, with the team winning the District 2 Championship — while going undefeated in the tournament — on July 17 against Shoreview.

On a picturesque day at St. Anthony Village High School’s Palm Field, the weather finally delivered summer heat like a rusty pitcher, and the only clouds in the blue sky were fluffy, and the varsity baseball team beat St. Paul Como Park 10-0.

Since suffering through a two-win season a few years ago, the Irondale High School boys basketball team has slowly increased its number of victories each season.
The Mounds View High School boys basketball team enters the 2016-17 season having posted winning records the previous three seasons. Last year’s squad went 22-7 and advanced to the section final.
After winning only two of its first 14 games a season ago, the St. Anthony Village High School girls basketball team went 8-3 over its final 11 regular-season games.
With a young lineup, the Mounds View High School girls basketball team struggled after a fast start to the season a year ago. A good number of those players are back this season and that has the Mustangs looking for a turnaround.
