HH-2017: North St. Paul Holiday Hop

file photo • Carols could sometimes be heard as the horse-drawn carriage rides pranced through downtown during last year’s annual North St. Paul Holiday Hop. Music, drawings, crafts, food specials, story time and photos with Santa were part of the event.

It’s almost time again for the North St. Paul Holiday Hop, which will be held Dec. 9. Events begin at 9 a.m. and run until 6 p.m.

In addition to all of the snacks, games, crafts and discounts to look out for at local businesses, keep your eyes peeled for Santa and his elf, who will be making their way through town from 9:30 a.m. until noon. The North St. Paul Snowman will also make an appearance around that time, and the North High School choir will be back again this year, caroling through downtown from 10 a.m. to noon.

A highlight of this year’s Holiday Hop is a reading by former Vikings player, Justice Allen Page. He will read from his new children’s book at 2 p.m. at Luv Ice Cream Café.

The Toy Shelf, located in Specialty Floral, will be accepting toy donations for those in need, and Journey of Misfits will take a photo of your family dog with Santa for a $10 donation or the donation of a Chuck It or Kong Extreme dog toy.

Before the day is out, be sure to try a free horse drawn trolley ride. Trolley rides will be offered from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and they have been a hit in past years!

Most events are free and take place at participating businesses along Seventh Avenue East in North St. Paul.
