Sprucing up Payne

Students from Washington Technology Magnet School, a high school in St. Paul’s North End, showed up on Wednesday, June 17 to help pick up Payne Avenue.

The students, who are all part of the school’s Navy Junior ROTC program, picked up trash along Payne Avenue and planted flower pots that are sponsored by various businesses on Payne Avenue.

The students filled bags of trash and made 27 flower pots, three window box flower planters, and one landscaped garden.

The clean-up is an annual event that is put on by Payne Arcade Business Association, the East Side Neighborhood Development Company, and the high schoolers. (Photos by Patrick Larkin/Review)
