Former sheriff’s employee charged with theft

Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that Theresa Marie Ford, 42, of Prior Lake, was charged today with theft by swindle, a felony, in connection with the theft of approximately $120,000 from funds under control of the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office.

Rep. Joe Atkins: New meth law shows results

A new law to address the state’s growing meth problem is proving very successful, reported State Rep. Joe Atkins, one of the key drafters of the legislation. In Dakota County, there has been a 75 percent reduction in meth crimes. The same trend has been reported across Minnesota.
