Ramsey County authorizes purchase of Vadnais Sports Center

In about a month, Ramsey County will be able to boast a good-as-new sports complex as its newest addition to the Parks and Recreation Department.
At its May 27 meeting, the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners voted 6-1 to authorize county manager Julie Kleinschmidt to purchase the Vadnais Sports Center for $9.8 million. The county also authorized the purchase of two adjacent commercial lots which could be developed for $752,000.

Serial bank robber sentenced to 3-1/2 years

Ranya Al-Huthaili, 23, of Roseville was sentenced May 21 to 3-1/2 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to a bank robbery spree that took place last year.
The 2008 Roseville Area High School graduate hit up five different banks between Aug. 15 and Sept. 9, 2013, each time giving a note to the teller threatening to use a gun if they did not comply, although she was unarmed.

Bonding bill allows Harambee to officially join ISD 623

Little Canada chiropractor faces rape charges

Roseville Community Band celebrates 50 years of making music

The group may have been around for half a century, but if you ask a member, they’ll tell you they’re just getting started.
The Roseville Community Band this year is celebrating 50 years of playing music, hard work, fond memories and most importantly, good times with friends.
In 1964, Mark Lammers founded the Roseville Municipal Band, which over time has transformed into the 60-member community band it is today.
