Search for Kira Trevino comes to an end


Kira Trevino

A body that was pulled from the Mississippi River near Robert Street in St. Paul on Wednesday, May 8, has been identified as Kira Trevino, 30.
A resident who works in the area saw the body floating in the river and notified police at about 1:30 p.m. May 8. The St. Paul Fire Department responded by boat and removed the heavily decomposed corpse from between two barges.

Though the weather hasn’t been very sunny recently, the Maplewood Nature Center is encouraging residents to plant “Lemon Queen” sunflowers in their gardens this year.
Not because these flowers will lure out the sun, but because they make excellent settings to observe bees.

$5,000 reward offered for Trevino information

Police and private donors are offering rewards for information that leads to the body of Kira Trevino, 30. Trevino’s husband, Jeffery, 39, is in jail and has been charged with her murder, but her remains have not been found. Searches have extended from their East Side home to lakes in Maplewood and even the Mississippi River near the Wakota bridge.
The St. Paul Police Foundation is offering a $5,000 reward for information.

Letter: ‘Surprised and dismayed’

I was very much surprised and dismayed  to learn Will Rossbach will not be a candidate for mayor. He has done a great job and it will certainly be a loss to our city. I can understand that business has to come first. He will certainly be missed. I watched him interact with the leadership of other cities and know he was well respected.
