County approves plan to purchase machines for disabled voters

The Washington County Board of Commissioners approved a plan that will purchase assistive voting machines for every precinct in the county. These machines will allow voters who are unable to use their hands or who are sight-impaired to cast ballots.

Except for the four years when the two teams wrestled together (1983-84 through 1986-87) there is no one around who can remember when North didn’t lose a wrestling match to the Tartan Titans.

Cathedral organ concert set for Feb. 23

An organ concert featuring Lynn Trapp from St. Olaf Catholic Church, Minneapolis, will be held at the Cathedral of St. Paul on Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free, but donations are accepted.

Guardian Angels Catholic Church is inviting women to an Evening of Reflection on Feb. 9. Dinner (catered by Lake Elmo Inn) will be at 6 p.m. followed by 7 p.m. by guest speaker, Carol Marie Hemish, SSND, who will discuss being faithful on a journey to God. The cost is $18.

An inter-faith conference to make hunger history will be held on Feb. 12 at Hamline University. Registration is at 12:30 p.m. and the event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m.
