Stabbing victim's body found early Saturday morning in Maplewood park

Maplewood police responded to the area of McKnight Road and Ripley Avenue following the report of a person requiring medical attention at 4:32 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim, North St. Paul resident Anna Hurd, 16, deceased at Hillside Park.

North St. Paul denies chemical rehabilitation center plan


The North St. Paul Transitional Care Center was closed in December, 2010. It is currently on the market.

Amid concerns from neighbors and questions about emergency services, the North St. Paul City Council denied a request to allow a chemical-dependency treatment facility to move into the former Transitional Care Center.
