RAHS fastpitch victorious in playoff opener

The Roseville Area High School fastpitch softball team opened the playoffs on Monday with a victory but faces a much more daunting task in the second round.

The eighth-seeded Raiders (9-11) blanked ninth-seeded St. Paul Como Park 3-0 to set up a Section 4AAA second-round match-up against top-seeded and 10th-ranked Hill-Murray (16-2) on Tuesday, May 22 at 4:30 p.m.

Freshman pitcher Emma Hylen dominated Como Park by striking out 14 batters and giving up only two hits.
