Contract, including Fire Protection,

Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical and

Civil work for the additions and

remodeling to Henry Sibley High

School and the District Office.

The High School Work consists of

construction of a new entry plaza,

building entrance and Lobby remodel;

construction of a new 3-court

gymnasium and fitness area on top

of an existing one-story structure;

significant interior remodeling of

the existing 3-story school building

including construction of music/

performing arts area, science

classrooms and laboratories, visual

and industrial arts area, new Family

And Consumer Sciences (FACS)

areas with commercial food service

equipment, new locker rooms; and

new and remodel work of the fire

suppression, plumbing, HVAC, and

electrical services throughout the

building.

The addition to and remodeling

of the one-story District Office is

included as an add alternate. The

Work consists of construction of a

new entry plaza, building entrance,

a new office addition, interior

remodeling and new and remodel

work of the fire suppression,

plumbing, HVAC, and electrical

services throughout.

The school and office building

areas include the existing building of

approximately 326,200 gross sq. ft.;

the school building entrance lobby

addition of approximately 3,700

sq. ft.; the district office addition of

approximately 1,970 gross sq. ft.;

and the 3-court gymnasium and

fitness area addition of approximately

26,120; for an approximate overall

building area of 357,990 gross sq. ft.

The overall Project site area is

approximately 67.6 gross acres.

The school building site area is

approximately 29.95 gross acres.

Base Bids will be accepted on

a Stipulated Lump Sum basis.

Segregated bids will not be accepted.

Independent School District 197 will

receive Base Bids, Unit Prices and

Alternate Bids on Tuesday, June 25,

2019 at the District Office, front desk,

at 1897 Delaware Avenue, Mendota

the executed Owner-Contractor

Agreement.

Since the Project will be constructed

in phases, Partial Substantial

Completion and Partial Final

Completion for each phase will be

required. Phasing is indicated on

the Phasing Plans and in Section

01 11 00 – Summary of Work, with

Substantial Completion and Final

Completion of the entire Project in

August 2021.

Electronic versions of the Bidding

Documents (Drawings, Project

Manual and Addenda), are

available by contacting the Owner’s

Representative at the phone number

above. The Owner’s Representative

will provide the Bidders access to

the cloud-based provider Procore

Technologies, Inc. for access to the

documents and provide the Bidders

locations of builders’ exchanges

holding documents for Bidders’

review. Bidders are responsible

for periodic review of the cloudbased

provider’s website for issued

addenda. Bidders are responsible

for any and all costs associated with

the hard copy printing of the Bidding

Documents for their use.

For Bidding Requirements, refer to

AIA Document A701 – Instruction

to Bidders included in the Project

Manual.

A Bid Security in the form of a

certified check, a cashier’s check

or a Bid Bond in the amount of 5

percent of the Bid must accompany

each Bid in accordance with the AIA

Document A701 - Instructions to

Bidders, Subparagraph 4.2.1.

Owner may make investigations

as deemed necessary to determine

the ability and responsibility of

a Bidder to perform the Work. A

Bidder shall furnish to Owner such

The members of the South St. Paul

School Board and audience recited

the Pledge of Allegiance.

• Two groups of Kaposia

Education Center fifth grade

students did an outstanding job

presenting how they developed and

applied their knowledge, conceptual

understandings, skills and learner

profile attributes in each of their

exhibition projects. Like the personal

project for the Middle Years Program

(MYP) and the extended essay in

the Diploma Program (DP), the PYP

Exhibition is a culminating learning

experience in the students’ final year

at Kaposia.

• The School Board honored

and thanked the following 25-year

employees and 2019-20 retirees

for their continued commitment

and dedication to the students and

people of this community:

SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

A school board meeting was held

at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3,

2019 in the Council Chambers at

the Mendota Heights City Hall,

1101 Victoria Curve, Mendota

Heights, MN. The following School

Board members were present:

John Chandler, Brenda Corbett,

Stephanie Levine, Joanne Mansur,

Byron Schwab and Terry Stamman.

Board member Maureen Ramirez

was absent. Superintendent Peter

Olson-Skog was present.

A motion carried to approve the

main agenda.

A motion carried to approve

the consent agenda which

included minutes; personnel

recommendations; final reading of

Policy 801.1; field trips; March and

April 2019 accounts payable and

treasurer’s reports; May 2019 wire

transfers report.

An update was presented on the

District Student Leadership Team.

A motion carried to approve a

change event for the multi-purpose

athletic facility.

A motion carried to approve a

resolution for 100% clean electricity.

A motion carried to approve the

long-term facilities maintenance tenyear

plan.

A motion carried to approve the

name of the multi-purpose athletic

facility.

A second reading of Policy 417 was

provided.

The Branch Out Site Report was

presented.

The FY 19-20 proposed General

Fund budget was presented.

The meeting adjourned at 7:53 p.m.

for Monday, June 17, 2019 at 5:00
