Arrests

— An argument over drinking escalated May 6 when a man slapped his 22-year-old girlfriend, knocking her glasses off, then grabbed and pushed her. The 28-year-old man, who has no permanent address, took the woman’s glasses and fled the scene. He was located a short time later, arrested on a gross-misdemeanor assault charge, and booked at the Ramsey County Jail.

— A deputy had to swerve to avoid a vehicle drifting into his lane at Highway 36 and I-35E on May 8. When the drifting continued, the deputy pulled the 22-year-old White Bear Lake man over and arrested him on a gross-misdemeanor second-degree DWI charge. The man, whose blood-alcohol level was tested at .20 percent, was given a notice of vehicle seizure with intent to forfeit and booked at the Ramsey County Jail.

— An 18-year-old White Bear Lake woman was punched multiple times in the face, then grabbed by the hair and thrown on a bed by her 38-year-old boyfriend who accused her of dating someone else, according to a deputy’s report. The woman met the deputy at Regions Hospital May 8 where she was treated for bruising around both eyes. The man was arrested and booked at the Ramsey County Jail on charges of fifth-degree assault, domestic assault and disorderly conduct.

— A 44-year-old Sandstone, Minn., man, staying at an apartment complex in Little Canada with a friend following treatment for alcohol abuse, borrowed the friend’s car for the evening. He made it home May 10, but failed to stop after entering the garage, hitting the side wall. The manager called authorities and the man was arrested on charges of second-degree DWI and gross misdemeanor blood-alcohol test refusal. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail.
