Inquiring minds: Byki, software used to learn languages - similar software for learning mathematics?
Each week the staff at the Roseville Library answers more than 2,500 questions on every subject under the sun. Here are some of the most interesting ones they've gotten lately.
Q. I recently became aware of Byki, software used to learn languages and absolutely love it. I was wondering if there was similar software for learning mathematics?
A. While we don't subscribe to a database that is exclusively devoted to helping you learn math, you can get some live online help with math if you go to the Adult Learning Center in our online JobNow database. There are also some free websites like www.math.com or www.intmath.com, which might be of help.
By the way, if you haven't checked out our online language learning software, Byki, this might be a good time to learn a new language. Byki offers online instruction in 80 different languages, including English-as-a-Second Language. You can ask a librarian for more information about any of these databases.
