History Center's Family Variety Show returns in 2013

The Minnesota History Center's popular family variety shows are back in 2013 with a new name and a "big" line up.

"The Big Wow Family Variety Show" is a 90-minute, family-friendly program that features music, dancing, comedy and multicultural fun for children of all ages.

Shows will be held on Jan. 26, Feb. 23 and March 30 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. with pre-show entertainment beginning at 1:15 p.m.

Formerly called the "Global Hotdish Variety Show!" the program is held at the History Center's 3M Auditorium. This past summer, a shortened version of the show was performed at the Minnesota State Fair to large crowds.

On Jan. 26 caricature artist Adnan Alshati will provide the pre-show entertainment beginning at 1:15 p.m.

The 2 p.m. show will be hosted by Aimee Bryant and feature house band Adam Levy and Bunny Clogs. Bryant will perform gospel harmonies.

The Nordic Bees will provide a Scandinavian polska beat. Other entertainment will include Tibetan dance with Tenzin Ngawang and Tenzin Woebum. There will be children's stories from India with Zaraawar Mistry and music by Greg Herriges.
