Board approves partnership for Workforce Center dislocated worker program

When a company does a larger worker layoff, the sheer number of new clients for a local workforce center can be overwhelming. With its approval of an innovative partnership with other metro workforce centers Washington County has committed to working with other workforce centers to make sure clients can access services in the location most convenient for them.

The county reaffirmed an agreement with the city of Minneapolis to cooperatively seek and manage state and federal grants to help dislocated workers. Under the agreement, the Washington County Workforce Center provides dislocated worker services for laid off residents living in or near Washington County and in western Wisconsin.
