A crash on Jan. 6 killed a New Brighton man and injured a passenger, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Matthew Allan Albertson, 34, died in the rollover crash on Sixth Street Northwest in New Brighton.

2019 bringing major renovations to Mounds View Public Schools

Bids and construction for the Mounds View Public Schools’ district-wide building projects, including the most intensive renovations, are on pace to get under way in 2019.

The Bartz home in New Brighton is once again a busy New Year’s destination thanks to Slinky the Snail.

Bamboo Bay opens at Shoreview Community Center

The nearly $16 million expansion of the Shoreview Community Center wrapped up at the end of 2018 with the opening of the Bamboo Bay water park area.

Brooklyn Park man arrested in connection with New Brighton death

A Brooklyn Park man is in custody on suspicion of third-degree murder in the death of a New Brighton woman.

Authorities arrested the 28-year-old on Dec. 17 after a brief chase, according to the New Brighton Department of Public Safety.

Towards invisible barriers

The 14-hour drive started at 5 a.m. in Montana, where I’d lived until that morning. My headlights couldn’t see far into the predawn snowstorm, and the car was skewing a bit sideways across the icy bridges.
