Tim Leslie of Mendota Heights has shared an office wall with Dakota County Sheriff Dave Bellows in Hastings for more than four years.
As chief deputy, Leslie has been focusing on the internal operations of the Sheriff’s Office, from the $18-million budget to personnel issues among the 200-person staff.

Santa Claus lives on a quiet street in Inver Grove Heights.
At least he does according to 2-year-old Brady and 4-year-old Gabriel.
Their neighbors, Nancy and Rodney Brown, not only dress up as Santa and Mrs. Claus every night for more than a month during the holidays, but they set up thousands of dollars worth of lights in their yard.
South St. Paul fixes issues, completes project
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has finalized a violation involving South St. Paul and a city contractor who pumped "cloudy" water into the city's stormwater system while building a new pumping station, spilling untreated water into the Mississippi River.
