Specialty and craft beer connoisseurs in the east metro will soon have a reason to celebrate as a new Oakdale store promises to offer as many as 1,000 different brew options on any given day.
But don’t plan on picking up a case of Bud Light at the soon-to-be-open Four Firkins in Oakdale -- they won’t be selling anything produced in mass quantity.
SuperValu adds more stores, expands distribution
The last of 10 Rainbow Foods stores in the Twin Cities purchased by SuperValu in May reopened as Cub Foods stores last week, including the Oakdale location at 7053 Tenth Street North.

The annual Lake Elmo Jaycees Huff n’ Puff Days are back next week for a 38th consecutive run Thursday, Aug. 7 through Sunday, Aug. 10.
Stephanie Lasch arrested at airport in April on plane bound for China
A former Oakdale business owner arrested on felony identity theft charges while trying to flee the country in April will not face any additional jail time. Stephanie Rae Lasch, 35, of East Bethel was sentenced in Anoka County Court earlier this month to 10 years’ probation.

The Oakdale Fire Department is celebrating its 50th anniversary this week.
The department will commemorate this special occasion by hosting open houses at Fire Station One and Fire Station Two this Saturday, July 19 from 1 to 3 p.m.
