Rail crossings to go quiet after three years of noise


Houses that abut railroad property near the crossing on Demont Avenue in Little Canada can expect relief from train whistle blasts beginning June 15, as the Demont crossing and seven others in the area become railroad quiet zones.

City officials in Little Canada and Shoreview have said it’s unlike anything they’ve experienced before.

Shoreview girl to perform the dance of her life


Shoreview resident, Deepta Jasthi, practiced for her upcoming solo dance debut at the Kala Vandanam Chakra Studio in downtown St. Paul on June 11.

Some kids take up an instrument, some play a sport, others dig into the arts. Deepta Jasthi, 14, does all three.
