Roseville/Bulletin People: September 11, 2017


Each of the four new Eagle Scouts earned a minimum of 21 merit badges, held leadership positions and planned and directed a service project. Pictured left to right, Zack Olson, Chris Nelson, Cory Huot, Mason Seibert.

Boy Scouts Troop 462 honored four new Eagle Scouts at a special Court of Honor at Spooner Park on July 31. The troop is chartered by St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Little Canada and is part of Northern Star Council.

Local community garden wins Beautification Award


The Green Pride Garden, located at the corner of Greenbrier Street and Lawson Avenue, recently won the Beautification Award from the Sustainable St. Paul Awards. The garden is managed by resident Regina Ripple. Marjorie Otto/Review

When Regina Ripple decided to turn an empty lot into a community garden, she said she never in a million years thought she’d win an award for it. 

But that’s just what happened. 

“I was really surprised,” laughed Ripple.
