Mounds View takes second at section swim meet

Two Mustangs relay teams qualify for state

The Mounds View High School boys swimming and diving team took second place at the Section 4AA championship meet finals on Feb. 27 at Stillwater Junior High School. The Mustangs scored 368 points to claim the runner-up trophy after battling North St. Paul for the second spot all afternoon. The Polars finished with 314 points. Stillwater easily won the championship with a score of 533 points. 

The Mustangs were led by their 200-yard and 400-yard freestyle relay teams, which both finished second to earn a trip to the Class AA state meet at the University of Minnesota’s Jean Freeman Aquatic Center on March 2-4. Several Mustangs posted season-best times in their respective events over the course of the three-day meet.

Mustangs swim to second at true team sections

The Mounds View Mustangs boys swimming and diving team swam to a second-place finish at the Section 4AA true team meet on Jan. 23 at Stillwater Junior High School.
