Vadnais Heights kicks off summer with Taste of Vadnais

The city of Vadnais Heights is making final preparations for its annual summer kick off — Taste of Vadnais. The 13th annual celebration of this event will take place on Thursday, June 6 from 6-9 p.m. at the Vadnais Heights Commons.
The event is free and will feature live music from the Shake Down Band, as well as food choices from several local eateries and merchants, with offerings like pizza, bakery goods, frozen custard, fresh sweet corn, chicken wings and much more.

SUNNY program will serve 5,000 free lunches over summer

Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Brighton is teaming up with its neighborhood to fight hunger in the community.
This is the third year the church is hosting Serving Up Nutrition Now for Youth (SUNNY), which offers free lunches for local children and families in need.

Two dead, two injured in Shoreview shooting

Ramsey County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of shots fired at a Shoreview home on the 5900 block of Grotto Street at approximately 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 4.
Ramsey County sheriff's office spokesman Randy Gustafson said upon arrival, authorities discovered there were four victims - an adult male and adult female were pronounced dead at the scene, and another man and woman were injured and transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Shoreview seeks volunteers to combat Emerald Ash Borer

The city of Shoreview is preparing for some uninvited guests that have been appearing in more and more communities throughout the state. The city first confirmed the arrival of the tiny, yet destructive pests known as the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) last year. Adult specimens are a green metallic color and about a half an inch long.
