Mother -- and daughters -- thank paramedics for possible life-saving trip

The Allina Medical Transportation center in Mounds View is a state-of-the-art staging area for paramedics and the ambulances and high-tech equipment they field in to medical emergencies. 
On Aug. 28, the center served another function: the site of reunion for twin girls and the paramedics who helped ensure their safe delivery one morning three years ago.

Touch-A-Truck returns to St. Anthony and Silver Lake Village


St. Anthony Fire Marshal Chris Fuller found a thrilled firetruck fan in 2-year-old Bodhi Geyen at the St. Anthony Chamber of Commerce's 2013 Touch-A-Truck event. The fire department will return with sirens and lights a-blazing at this year's Touch-A-Truck event Sept. 13.

The St. Anthony Chamber of Commerce and Silver Lake Village Shopping Center will hold their second annual Touch-A-Truck event Saturday, Sept. 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Silver Lake Village.

Police advise others to keep an eye out for stained money
The same man wanted for an Aug. 11 killing at an Arden Hills gas station is a suspect in a Sunday bank robbery in Blaine.
Police now suspect Lyle "Ty" Hoffman of robbing a TCF Bank location at 331 County Road 10 NE around 2 p.m. Aug. 31, based on surveillance video taken during the robbery.

City attorney says St. Anthony has yet to officially respond to lawsuit
The Department of Justice filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against St. Anthony Village Aug. 27, arguing discrimination in its denial of a conditional use permit for an Islamic worship center within the city.
