Hill-Murray’s baseball team played in the only Metro East Conference game of the day on May 5. The Pioneers, who visited Simley that day, needed a victory over the Spartans to keep pace with Mahtomedi in the conference standings.
Since losing to Hastings in the second week of the season, the North High School fastpitch softball team had been trying to keep pace with the Raiders in order to make their second meeting of the season worth something.
Jake Kubiatowicz entered the discus competition at the Hamline Elite Meet on April 29 as the top seed and went out and proved it. Kubiatowicz, a junior at North High School, won the event by nearly six feet.
The Roseville Area High School girls lacrosse team started the season by winning five of its first six games. The Raiders then dropped two in a row last week and is looking to get back to winning this week.
Most high school track and field meets during the regular season don’t come with any qualification standards. If a team is scheduled to compete in a meet, the athletes can enter whichever events they choose.
