In the final three years of the North Suburban Conference, the Irondale High School fastpitch softball team was a perennial contender for the league championship. The Knights won it twice and was second once in that stretch.
There is a decent amount of turnover in terms of the teams competing in this week's Class AAA state true team track and field meet. Eight teams (five boys and three girls) that competed in last year's meet failed to qualify this season.
The Roseville Area High School track and field teams competed in last week’s Section 6AAA true team meet. The Raiders came through with some notable individual performances, but were unable to clinch a spot in this week’s state true team meet.
