The Mounds View High School boys Nordic ski team has sent at least one member to the state meet in each of the past four years. Two members of this year's squad have good chances to extend that streak to five years.
The Roseville Area High School girls Nordic ski team is no stranger to the state meet. The Raiders have qualified for state in each of the past five seasons and look to extend that streak to six this week.
The Irondale High School Nordic ski racing teams closed out their seasons last week by competing in the state meet. It was the first time since 1988 that both Irondale teams qualified for the state competition.

For residents of the northern states, the turning of the calendar to February usually means the worst of winter is behind them. For prep Nordic skiers in Minnesota, it means the biggest competition of the season is only days away.
