Raiders volleyball begins defense of section title

The main goal for the Roseville Area High School volleyball team this season was to successfully defend the section championship it won a year ago. With a decent amount of turnover from last year’s state-tournament team, it wasn’t going to be easy.
Roseville started the season 0-4 but came together as the season progressed and this week the Raiders enter the Section 4AAA playoffs as the No. 2 seed.

Road to state runs through Roseville’s stadium

The last time the Roseville Area High School football team made it to the state tournament, it won a pair of home section playoff games before playing a third section game on the road. This year, the Raiders need just the two wins on home turf to qualify for state.
Roseville, despite dropping its final game of the regular season last Wednesday to Mounds View, received the No. 2 seed in Section 4 of Class 6A and opens the post season Friday at home against seventh-seeded Woodbury. A victory over the Royals guarantees the Raiders a second home playoff game on Nov. 1 with the winner that night advancing to the state tournament.

Returnees set to lead RAHS swimming and diving squad

With 15 returning letterwinners on the roster this season, the Roseville Area High School girls swimming and diving has a solid nucleus around which to build. High school swimming is a numbers game, however, and the Raiders’ numbers are small.
“A strong lead swimmer in all events and four strong divers,” Roseville head coach Barbara VailOdash listed as her team’s strength. “We are a small team, which will affect our depth.”

Mix of veterans, newcomers set to lead RAHS girls CC

The Roseville Area High School girls cross country team qualified for the state meet for the fourth consecutive season last fall. Regardless of what kind of turnover the program has each season, getting back to state is always on the list of goals.
“Every year, that’s a goal for us,” said Roseville head coach Mary Schifsky. “The girls all kind of look at that. The girls all really like going to state.”

RAHS girls soccer continues to develop

Two years ago the Roseville Area High School girls soccer team won just two games. That number jumped to 10 last season.
Roseville returns 14 letterwinners, including six starters, from last yearís squad and is looking to continue to be a formidable opponent.
