The Concordia Academy volleyball team closed out its most successful season in almost 30 years with a runner-up finish at the Class AA state tournament. The last time the Beacons finished higher than that was in 1987.
In the state tournament for the second straight year, the Concordia Academy volleyball team did this year what it couldn't last season. The Beacons won their first-round match and put themselves in a prime position to play for the state title.
There's plenty of motivation for a team heading into the first round of a state tournament but for the Roseville Area High School volleyball team, the opponent on the other side of the net provided another reason for wanting to be successful.
After beating the same opponent in the previous three section finals, the Roseville Area High School volleyball team saw a different squad on the other side of the net in the Section 4AAA championship match last week.
Concordia Academy senior Seguy Hanson has had a solid season for the Beacons' boys cross country team and that season has been extended one additional week. Hanson gets one more race thanks to his performance last week in the section meet.
