It’s Athena Awards time once more

The award is aptly named -- Athena was the daughter of the Greek god Zeus.
She was the goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, courage and just warfare among many other attributes.
Following the lead from the Minneapolis area schools, St. Paul area schools adopted the Athena Awards program in 1995.
This year the awards ceremony will be held April 17 at the Prom Center in Oakdale. Once again, Randy Shaver of KARE-TV Channel 11 will be the emcee. He has been the emcee each year since its inception in 1995.
