Play in the Metro East Conference moved into the third week of the 2014 season. The Hastings Raiders traveled to Maplewood and were overrun by the Hill-Murray Pioneers, 36-14, and St. Thomas Academy marched into North St.
The Tartan High School girls tennis forces have already begun the season and are feeling some growing pains.
Tartan veteran coach Larry Fronczak said, “We have many new players who have not had any varsity playing experience.”

As the high school football teams wrapped up the second games of the 2014 season, the visiting Hill-Murray Pioneers took control Friday night to defeat North in a high-scoring contest.
Tartan was on the road at St. Thomas Academy, and the Cadets quickly discovered they were able to march right through the Titans’ defense.
The North High girls cross country team hopes to move up one more spot in the conference standings this season.
A year ago the cross country running corps finished second in the Classic Suburban Conference.
