A Coon Rapids man who admitted to purposely hitting his pregnant girlfriend with his truck in the Mermaid parking lot in Mounds View last spring has been sentenced to five years and eight months in prison.
In August, Jordan Zachary Knoff, 25, pled guilty to second-degree assault as part of a plea deal in Ramsey County District Court.
A total of 19 men were arrested over a two-day period for responding to online advertisements to engage in prostitution at a Mounds View motel.
To catch the perpetrators, police placed phony ads on Backpage.com advertising sex at a motel in Mounds View. The men who responded were arrested after they gave money to an undercover female officer posing as a prostitute.
"We are happy with the results of this investigation," said Mounds View Police Chief Tom Kinney. "I would like to acknowledge the St. Paul Police Department for their expertise in this."
