An alert neighbor in the 1300 block of Skillman Avenue in Maplewood called police at 2:40 p.m. Nov. 9 to check on a baby left unattended in a stroller.
According to police reports, the 7-month-old wasn't the only child in danger at the house.

Schnell earns ‘master practitioner’ certification

The Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association has certified Maplewood Police Chief Paul Schnell as a master practitioner, the highest certification level in the association’s new credentialing program.

Maplewood Police are investigating the death of a 40-year-old St. Paul man after he was assaulted inside Fred's Tiki Hut, a bar at 1820 Rice Street.

Currently, a 23-year-old man is in custody, being held on suspicion of murder.
