‘The people’s party’


The Not Guilty Band was one the many performances that hit the stage during the 7th Street Live event. At right, many food trucks were available during the 7th Street Live event located along East 7th Street between Minnehaha Avenue and Forest Street.

7th Street Live, the Dayton’s Bluff music, art and food festival, enjoyed beautiful weather on Aug. 13. This was the festival’s second year and was organized by the Dayton’s Bluff Community Council and the East Side radio station WEQY 104.7 FM.

FUN IN THE SUN


The Lake Elmo Park Reserve swim pond reopened Aug. 1 after a $1.4 million renovation. Aging infrastructure (liner, pipes, skimmers, inlets, outlets, and drain bottom) was replaced, the pond regraded to a maximum depth of 4-feet, and amenities and accessibility improved. Officials held a ribbon cutting, celebrating the jewel within a jewel that same Monday.

NEVER FORGOTTEN


Strung along the pedestrian bridge, blue lights and personalized hearts represented law enforcement who died in the line of duty. A candle light vigil with blue glow sticks for our fallen officers was held in North St. Paul Aug. 1 and planned for each night through Aug. 4.
