Two longtime Mounds View orchestra directors to retire


John Madura is retiring after 44 years as Orchestra Director at Mounds View High School.

Irondale and Edgewood Orchestra Director Deb Sittko us also retiring after a lengthy career in the district.

John Madura and Deb Sittko have over 65 years of combined experience leading orchestra programs in the Mounds View Public School District.

Sixth grader Lucy Chen wins Shoreview’s Human Rights Essay Contest

11-year-old Lucy Chen took top honors for her essay on protecting human rights in Shoreview’s 2013 Human Rights Commission’s (HRC) annual middle school essay contest.
Shoreview’s essay contest is held every year in conjunction with the League of Minnesota Human Rights Commissions (LMHRC).
