New addition - New Brighton Community Center

The New Brighton Community Center features a Subway that was added to the facility a couple of months ago.  The gym at the New Brighton Community Center is a perfect way to burn off that extra energy and keep warm too!

2013 Fire Safety Poster Contest winners announced

The annual Fire Safety Poster Contest for fourth and fifth graders was completed during October. Students in those grades, Wilshire Park Elementary and St. Charles Borromeo, create an original poster that includes a Fire Safety or Fire Prevention message. Posters are collected and evaluated by the St. Anthony Fire Department. The theme this year was “Prevent Kitchen Fires” and around 250 posters were done.

Raising the flag

A flag raising ceremony was held Oct. 24 at Chandler Place Assisted Living. Three members of the Fridley VFW Post 363 Color Guard had the honor of presenting and raising the flag. The ceremony was attended by local veterans, city officials and residents

Suspicious death in Shoreview ruled a homicide

The cause of death of a man found outside a building on the 5700 block of Hamline Avenue North in Shoreview on Thursday morning, Aug. 29 has been classified as homicide.
On Friday, Aug. 30, a Ramsey County Medical Examiner confirmed that the man died from a gunshot wound that was not self-inflicted.

One dead, one arrested in Mounds View

The body of a man was found in a third floor hallway at an apartment complex at 7750 Silver Lake Road on Thursday, June 20 at 8: 45 p.m. The man was later identified as Perry Paulson, age 49, of Mounds View, a resident of the apartment complex.
