As construction season begins to wane, another bridge in the Interstate 35W corridor is coming down: the County Road F/Lake Valentine Road bridge over the interstate closed July 30 and will be removed the weekend of Aug. 7.

Ramsey County Parks and Recreation announced Wednesday, July 29, that two of its beaches are closed because of high levels of E. coli bacteria found in lake water during testing on July 28.
The swimming beaches at Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton and Tony Schmidt Regional Park -- Lake Johanna -- in Arden Hills, are closed and unguarded until further notice, according to the county.
City ponders local elections changes
New Brighton's polling places are set for the city’s voters this fall.
The New Brighton City Council approved the city's new Precinct 8 polling place at Sunny Square Park Neighborhood Center during its July 14 council meeting.
The council approved a reconfigured precinct map in March that added three precincts and caused the relocation of many residents to new polling places.

RCWD finalizing plan to recreate meanders in Rice Creek
Middle Rice Creek once meandered through Arden Hills before it was straightened in the mid-1900s, and after more than three-quarters of a century, the creek will be restored to a more winding route.
But before the creek's new flow can be completed and construction can start, community members and organizations like the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will have an opportunity to comment on a project document that was released to the public July 6.
