Gallery 96 puts Shoreview residents’ art on display

It was a project that gave all Shoreview residents the chance to be an artist. Now, the final work is on display at the Shoreview Community Center.

It started with a photo. Jan Plumb opened a box from her mom labeled "open when you have time." Inside was a photo of her and her late father, Lt. William Haier, that she had never seen before.

The Fox Cities area is full of surprises

Who would have thought that in 1882, the beautiful Victorian Hearthstone home overlooking the Fox River in Appleton, Wisconsin, would be the first home in the world to be lighted by hydroelectricity from a central station using the Thomas Edison system?
The event put the area on the map and launched unimaginable changes in how people cooked, cleaned, lived and entertained themselves in their homes.

Election 2015- District 282 candidates focus on closing achievement gap

Candidates running unopposed
Three-at-large seats are open for the St. Anthony-New Brighton Independent School District 282 Board, and three candidates are running. Cassandra Palmer, Andrea (Andie) Scamehorn and Michael Volna are up for election. Palmer is the only candidate running who is currently not on the board.

Work has begun on the new Ramsey County Library in Shoreview — on Oct. 22, ground was officially broken.

I searched my closet for anything purple — my school color — and came up with a few shirts, a jacket, socks and even shoes to wear for my 50th college reunion at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois — the first reunion I’ve ever attended.
