After coming up short on its own homecoming night the week prior, the Irondale High School football team went out on the road last week and won someone else’s homecoming game. The Knights used a dominant second half to spoil St.
The Irondale High School boys soccer team entered the 2016 season having won just three games over the previous two years. Following a 0-5 start, it looked like it was going to be more of the same this season but then something changed.
The volleyball teams from Irondale and Mounds View spent most of the first day of October in a gym competing in tournaments. While they missed out on some spectacular Minnesota fall weather, it was worth it in the end.
There hasn’t been a lot to celebrate for the Irondale High School football team this season but homecoming week has arrived. Among the festivities on tap is the football game on Friday against Robbinsdale Armstrong.
“The Block” is the traveling trophy that the football teams from Irondale High School and Spring Lake Park High School battle for each year. It was created in 2011 but hasn’t spent much time in New Brighton.
The Irondale High School football team’s two victories in 2015 came on the road. The Knights are off to a 0-2 start this season and look to break into the win column this week when they venture away from home for the second consecutive week.
