The Irondale High School girls track and field team that qualified for state in the 4x400-meter relay in 2015 finished in the bottom half of the standings in the prelims and did not advance to the finals.
The high school track and field season came to a conclusion last weekend as the state meet was held at Hamline University’s Klas Field in St. Paul. Five District 621 students capped off their seasons by capturing state championships.
The Irondale High School track and field teams competed in the Section 6AAA true-team meet on May 10 and both squads landed smack dab in the middle of standings. Both the boys and girls squads finished fifth out of nine teams.
Irondale High School sophomore Julia Hayes has already earned three all-state track and field honors and appears to be on track for some more later this season. Hayes fared well at the Hamline Elite Meet on Friday at Hamline University in St.
