The North St. Paul Fire Department will host its annual booya Oct. 11 starting at 11 a.m. at Casey Lake Park, 2045 17th Ave. People can eat at the park plus bring containers to take booya home; it will be served until it’s gone.
Volunteers are invited to a work day at Southwood Nature Preserve from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 3. Families and groups are welcome and lunch will be provided. Contact Cathy at 651-779-8699 for more information.
Hill-Murray’s 90-minute adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” will showcase the talents of its young actors in the comedy, romance and tragedy of the classic story with 7 p.m. shows Oct. 2 and 3 and a 2 p.m. matinee Oct. 4.
The Saint Paul Audubon Society is holding a meeting at the Fairview Community Center on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. There, author John Moriarty will discuss amphibians and reptiles in Minnesota and have copies of his book on the subject for sale.
Historian Pat Hill will tell the story about Roseville’s founding family on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. at the Roseville Library. Settler Isaac Rose gave his name to Roseville Township, which was established in 1850.
