There is no doubt things will be different in Oakdale's local government after the Nov. 8 election.
Susan Kent, 52, held on to her Senate District 53 seat by a narrow margin on Nov. 8, while her DFL colleague in the state House, JoAnn Ward of Maplewood, defeated her opponent in District 53A by nearly 20 percentage points.
The races in the small suburbs of Mendota, Lilydale and Sunfish Lake were all uncontested this year.
On Election Day, there were 21,283 Inver Grove Heights voters registered by 7 a.m.

As of election morning, there were 8,643 registered voters in Mendota Heights.
A local legislative seat held by Democrats will stay "blue" in the next 2017 session, while one seat is turning "red."
