Two local boys basketball teams, the Roseville Area High School Raiders and the Concordia Academy Beacons, are headed into post-season play this week. Here’s a look at what lies ahead.

For the six varsity sports teams from Roseville Area High School and Concordia Academy participating in holiday tournaments in the next week, there’s a little bit of everything.
All-Conference selections for the fall 2014 season at Concordia Academy
The roster for the Concordia Academy boys basketball team has 13 players listed and 10 of them are seniors. With that kind of experience at the ready, the Beacons could be poised for a special season.
The Concordia Academy volleyball team closed out its season last week with a trip to the state tournament. The Beacons went 1-2 in the tournament and finished in sixth place.
The volleyball team from Concordia Academy is back in the state tournament for the first time since 2008. The Beacons clinched a spot in the tournament by winning the Section 4AA championship last week.
The first fall state tournament that includes competitors from Roseville Area High School takes place this Saturday.
The prep football playoffs didn’t last long for the teams from Roseville Area High School and Concordia Academy. Both squads bowed out in the first round for the first time in a number of years.
This week is the one that prep volleyball teams dream of when they step into the gym for preseason workouts in August.
