For the second consecutive year, the Concordia Academy volleyball team concluded its season by playing for a state championship.

The Concordia Academy volleyball team got its third consecutive trip to the state tournament off to a good start although it wasn’t easy.

The Concordia Academy volleyball team entered the Section 5AA final last week as the underdog, at least as far as the seeds were concerned.

The volleyball teams from Concordia Academy and DeLaSalle appear destined to meet in the section final for the second consecutive season. The top two seeds had little trouble in winning their section playoff openers last week.

Not much went right for the Concordia Academy football team in its playoff opener last week. The Beacons gave up three first-quarter touchdowns and the ensuing two-point conversions and went on to lose 44-0 to Spectrum.

The Concordia Academy football team hasn’t won a game since the first week of the season. The team the Beacons beat back then was Spectrum, which went on to finish the regular season with a .500 record.
