Although only a freshman, Julia Fixsen is already a multi-year state track and field qualifier. By the time she wraps up her senior season, there’s a good shot she’ll have multiple state championships.
The high school track and field season came to a conclusion last weekend as the state meet was held at Hamline University’s Klas Field in St. Paul. Five District 621 students capped off their seasons by capturing state championships.

The move to Section 4AA this season paid off handsomely for the Mounds View High School boys tennis team. The Mustangs swept the section championships and have plenty of representation at this week’s state tournament.
The St. Anthony Village High School baseball team this week begins its quest for its second championship this season. The Huskies claimed the Tri-Metro Conference title last week and are now going after a section crown.
Since 2006, the St. Anthony Village High School faspitch softball team has not missed out on back-to-back state tournaments. The Huskies did not make state last season so they need to return this year to keep from missing two in a row.
