Precinct party caucuses are a week away

Parties prepare for Super Tuesday

Precinct party caucuses are a week away on March 1 — Super Tuesday — when voters in Minnesota and 12 other states will caucus for presidential candidates, among other party business.

The events, which begin at 7 p.m., are run completely by state political parties and deal with internal party business so caucus rules and happenings will vary, district by district.

Roseville Review area Republicans and DFLers who plan to caucus likely live in either House District 42B or 66A; officials in both parties are expecting lots of caucus participation during this presidential election year.

Scammers ringing Ramsey County residents

Sheriff puts out word about phone scams
The phone scammers are going down the list, and according to the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, their fingers have been dialing the numbers of Arden Hills and Shoreview residents. 
Residents within both cities have reported calls and messages concerning “unclaimed packages” of money that belong to them.

Arden Hills City Council still searching for new city administrator

The fact that Arden Hills hasn't yet filled the position of city administrator, which opened up last fall, isn't because city leaders aren't trying. 

Mayor David Grant said they just want to find the right person for the job.

Kowalski’s looks to settle into Shoreview’s former Rainbow Foods 
The former Rainbow Foods location at County Road 96 and Hodgson Road in Shoreview might soon be the home of a new grocery store. 
According to Shoreview Mayor Sandy Martin, Kowalski's is looking like a bright option for the 68,000-square-foot space built in the 1990s and left empty when Rainbow's parent company, the Milwaukee-based Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc., pulled out of the Twin Cities in July 2014.
