Make your own Political Posters! This is a two-day workshop. Day 1 (Sat 12-3PM) Learn poster design skills and design your own poster. Day 2 (Sun 1-4PM) Learn to screen-print, and print your own posters. Come to either workshop, or better, come to both.

East Side Freedom Library will host a roundtable discussion, sponsored by Theater Mu and Pangea World Theater, on “Beyond Orientalism.”
Local artists will lead the discussion and respond to questions like: “How can the creative community advance race equity in the theater?” “How do artists and producers work together to eradicate yellowface and brownface?”
The East Side Freedom Library will host an event presented by "On Stage: Creating a Community Dialogue Around Live Theatre" that will encourage an audience to become learner. Harry Waters Jr. and Thomasina Petrus will facilitate a discussion and read parts of the script to relate event in the play to our current issues of inequality. The East Side Freedom Library will host a discussion with professional theater artists Harry Waters Jr. and Thomasina Petrus about “A Raisin in the Sun”, Lorraine Hansberry’s classic play, as well as a reading of a portion of the script. “A Raisin in the Sun” is a fiercely moving portrait of a family living and struggling in Chicago’s South Side in the 1950s. It was the first play written by an African-American woman to be performed on Broadway (debuted in 1959).

All items are handcrafted or repurposed by Clovia members and alumni. Check out the quilt raffle and shopping items like specialty foods, woven rugs, holiday items, nature crafts, home decor, tot shop, accessories, antiques and collectibles.

Thousands of gently used books, CDs, DVDs and magazines will be available at the Friends of the Wentworth Library fall book sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 15. There will be a preview sale for members of the Friends of the Wentworth Library on Friday, October 14 from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for members of the Friends of the Wentworth Library. You can join that group during the preview sale by paying the annual membership fee of $10.
