‘Village’ life


Kids of all ages ran wild with cows, goats and sheep at the petting zoo; for the more adventurous, pony rides were also available.

On Aug. 3, the heat was on at VillageFest’s annual bags tournament; competitors had plenty of room to practice their arc on the festival grounds at Central Park. Left, Papa John Kolstad and his band played folk music for the crowd — most folks were huddled under the shade of a nearby beer tent.

Residents of all ages lined St. Anthony Boulevard for the VillageFest parade on Aug. 2. In addition to elected officials and representatives from the community, the parade featured various marching bands and color guards, as well as an Irish pipe band, a number of classic cars and plenty of candy. VillageFest, St. Anthony’s annual community celebration, ran from Aug. 2 to 4.
