Aging But Dangerous meetings

Aging But Dangerous, the Internationally acclaimed movement that has been empowering women 50 and older to live lives of fun, spirit and style since 2008, is opening a new chapter in the Twin Cities. Meetings will be at noon on the third Friday of every month. The next meeting will be Friday, April 19, at Maplewood Library. All women 50 and better are invited to join the monthly meetings where you’ll smash old stereotypes about aging and share new ideas for embracing the best years of their lives. Topics will include health and fitness, fashion and style, limitless thinking, making new friends, travel and adventure, and just about anything that’s uplifting, inspiring or humorous. Jean Ketcham, former radio host, business owner, skydiver, and founder of Aging But Dangerous, will make a special appearance. Transfiguration Catholic Church Garage Sale

The sixth Annual Transfiguration Catholic Church Garage Sale will be held Friday, May 17 starting at 8:30 a.m., and Saturday, May 18 starting at 8:30 a.m. The sale will be located in the gathering space of the church. Items include electronics, toys, household goods, books, jewelry, religious items, seasonal items, kitchen items, a large array of children clothing and much more. This widely popular sale has something for everyone and at very low prices. Transfiguration Catholic Church is located at 6133 15th St. N. in Oakdale.



Oakdale support group for families

 National Alliance on Mental Illness Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families and friends of individuals living with a mental illness in Oakdale on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, starting at 6 p.m., at Canvas Health in the community room. Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences. Canvas Health is located at 7066 Stillwater Blvd in Oakdale. For information call at 651-341-8918.


Tri-lakes Association annual Easter egg hunt 

Join in the fun with the Easter Bunny bringing over 1,400 easter eggs to hunt on Saturday, April 20, starting at 10 a.m. Please bring a cash for raffle tickets ($2/each) and donations are appreciated. The hunt is divided by age group 0-3 years old, 4-6 years old, 7-9 years old. Parking is limited so please carpool. There will be a raffle for Easter baskets, pictures with the Easter bunny and membership information about Tri-lakes association. This is an allergy-friendly event as no nuts will be in the eggs. The hunt starts promptly at 10 a.m.  so please do not be late. The hunt will be at Pebble Park located at 8160 Lake Jane Trail N., Lake Elmo. For more information email membership@tri-lakes.info


North St. Paul 50- year reunion

21st annual Living Stations of the Cross 

The “Servants of the Cross” group will re-enact the Passion of Jesus Christ at three locations on Good Friday, Friday, April 19. First at 9 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter, which is located at 2600 N. Margaret St. in North St. Paul. Then noon at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is located at 1725 Kennard St. in North St.. Paul. Bluegrass Jam

The North St. Paul Bluegrass Jam, with its vintage fiddle music, is looking for new pickers. This non-electric style relies heavily on banjo, guitar, fiddle, mandolin and harmonica, and includes other styles including ‘60s pop. Monthly two-hour sitting practices are open to all skill levels. Farm Spring Clean-Up 

Grab your gloves and help with spring cleanup at the Bruentrup Heritage Farm. You can help by raking leaves and small rocks in the farmyard or cleaning windows, walls and floors indoors. You are sure to see the fruits of your labors and benefit your community, too. A light lunch will be provided. Bring gloves and appropriate clothing for the weather.
