Town Square Television clients receive targeted marketing exposure while supporting a great local cause

Town Square Television broadcasts and streams local graduation ceremonies, offering a way for loved ones near and far to enjoy the special day.

David Roen, owner of Volkswagen of Inver Grove (far right), says: “One of the values of our company is: Support the Communities that Support Us. The Graduation Celebration is an event that fits into our values as a company — it just makes sense!”

If you live in Inver Grove Heights, Lilydale, Mendota, Mendota Heights, South St. Paul, Sunfish Lake or West St. Paul, Town Square Television is your connection to local news, information and entertainment.

With an award-winning staff, high definition cameras, a recently expanded studio, professionally equipped edit suites and a state-of-the-art production truck, Town Square has all the amenities of a commercial TV station, with one distinct advantage: it’s here for the public.

Programming includes award-winning local news, music and arts, high school sports, faith-related shows, local government, election coverage, history programs, graduations, community festivals and more.

Last year, the nonprofit organization televised nearly 1,400 unique shows. With a small staff, Town Square relies on volunteers, sponsors and business clients to accomplish its motto, “Your Town, Your Stories.”

Community members are encouraged to take classes, become volunteers and produce their own shows. Becoming a part of local television is a great way for residents to bring their favorite sports, music and civic events to life.

Sponsors give essential support while gaining targeted local connections

As online streaming becomes increasingly popular, Town Square is adapting to meet new demands. Its website allows viewers to watch programs online on multiple devices, including many programs now streamed on Facebook Live.

The decrease in traditional cable subscribers has also forced Town Square to reevaluate its funding streams. As the need for community television skyrockets, Town Square relies on the participation of local businesses to keep its community coverage strong.

“We foresaw this challenge decades ago,” explains Executive Director Jodie Miller, “and began offering services that would help develop a supplementary source of funding while also supporting and engaging another important sector of our community: local businesses and nonprofits.”

Town Square offers sponsorship packages at a range of price points. They come with a professionally produced video spot that airs 24/7 on Community Channel 14, as well as additional exposure in video programs across platforms. Town Square creates opportunities for sponsors to join its network of community partners through chamber of commerce and other special events.

For the last six years, Volkswagen of Inver Grove has been the major sponsor of Town Square’s extensive graduation coverage.

“We televise and web stream live the commencement ceremonies of six local high schools, Inver Hills Community College and two GED and alternative schools,” says Sponsorship Coordinator Shawn Vougeot.

Award-winning producers create effective, tailored marketing videos

Over the years, Town Square has produced hundreds of high-impact videos for businesses and nonprofits of all sizes. They fulfill a wide range of client needs: brief advertising spots, branding videos, testimonials, virtual tours, event coverage and more.

In addition to award-winning production and editing, Town Square’s staff will advise and support clients through every step of the process.

“We focus on the video, cable TV, internet and social media distribution expertise that many local businesses and nonprofits don’t have in-house,” says Miller.

Recently, Cerenity Senior Care of West St. Paul decided to show an event video at its annual gala.  Cerenity worked with Town Square’s producers to design an informative and entertaining video for attendees, evoking an emotional response and inspiring participants to help with fundraising.

“We were thrilled with the result,” says Denise Rene Hannah, Foundation Development Director at Cerenity. “We exceeded our fundraising goal and set a record for this event. The video conveyed an emotion and a story that we could not have adequately done in person by paraphrasing someone else’s words.”

Through sponsoring Town Square Television, local businesses help provide high-quality programming that celebrates their customers and their community. With the help of Town Square’s production team, businesses are also able to expand their client base through world-class marketing media and meaningful local partnerships.
