Shoreview Library screens Paris to Pittsburgh

Northeast Metro Climate Action invites you to a free screening of the film “Paris to Pittsburgh”, Monday, Feb. 25 starting at 7 p.m., at Shoreview Library.  “Paris to Pittsburgh” is narrated by Rachel Brosnahan and premiered on National Geographic channel on Dec. 12, 2018. “Paris to Pittsburgh” shows how Americans from coastal cities to the Midwest heartland are demanding and developing real solutions in the face of climate change. And, as the weather grows more deadly and destructive, they aren’t waiting on Washington to act. The film brings to life the impassioned efforts of individuals who are battling the most severe threats of climate change in their own backyards. Set against the national debate over the United States’ energy future and the Trump administration’s explosive decision to exit the Paris Climate Agreement the film captures what’s at stake for communities around the country and the inspiring ways Americans are responding. After the film, a local high school student who is a leader in the “Minnesota Can’t Wait” youth-led movement for action on climate change will speak. This event is sponsored by Northeast Metro Climate Action. Shoreview Library is located at 4560 Victoria St. N. For more information call 612-965-8284.
