How to download audiobooks to your phone

Inquiring minds

Each week the staff at the Roseville Library answers more than 2,500 questions on every subject under the sun. Here is one of the most interesting ones they’ve gotten lately.

Q. How do I get talking books on my iPhone? Do I need an app? Do I come into the Library or does your site have instructions?

A.  The main app the library uses for downloading audiobooks to your smartphone, tablet or other digital device is called RBdigital. The first step is to use a computer (not your phone) to go to the Ramsey County Library website at www.rclreads.org. Click on the block labeled “Downloads” in the left column of the homepage. Then choose the  RBDigital option. You will be able to watch an instruction video on how to start downloading materials to your device. For more help, you can also visit one of the libraries and talk to a reference librarian. There are also specific days and times for one-to-one tech help at the Roseville Library on Tuesdays 2-4 p.m., Wednesdays 5-7 p.m., Thursdays 1-3 p.m., or by appointment by calling 651-724-6001. The Roseville Library is located at 2180 Hamline Ave. N.
